The centerpiece features an 11-star constellation of woodland Western Starflowers - each representing 5 U.S. states and territories - set in the indigenous Elk Chase pattern over a deep Pacific Ocean navy. The stripes are forged from the earth, alternating between the bleached sand of the Pacific coast and the rich tones of Western Red Cedar and ancient Hoh red soil. Framed by the legacy of 1776 and the promise of 2026, it is a call for a new era: untamed liberty and rooted justice. The design concludes with Alki—a Chinook Jargon word meaning "someday," a hopeful nod to a future we can build together.
