Completed in 1892 during the city's fleeting economic boom as the anticipated terminus of the Northern Pacific Railroad, this Richardsonian Romanesque masterpiece was designed by architect Willis A. Ritchie. Though the railroad ultimately bypassed the town and the local economy crashed, the magnificent brick and stone structure—crowned by its iconic 125-foot clock tower—endures as a beloved symbol of the "City of Dreams."
